I would like to comment on the new blog story, but comments have been closed. In your post dated 10th August you stated comments are blocked after a few weeks. It’s only been a few days. What’s going on? Is this censorship?

You asked me a question I would like to answer, but you have closed the blog to comments after jjthornton2014 made some false and libellous accusations regarding our local councillors. Could you re-home it for comments, please. It is only fair for people to have chance to challenge these statements and accusations. Thanks

I have attempted to comment on Independent controlled A.P.C. freezes precept but have been unable to. Is this a problem with your site or have further comments been blocked?

    • Watchman says:

There is no problem with the site nor have further comments been blocked by me.
Because the thread is more than one month old the embedded software automatically stops further comments if nobody posts within a given time.
I’m sorry you are unable to post your comment however I do have a suggestion which you might like to consider:
If you want to write more than a few words about the precept/APC and any suggestions how the Parish Council can save money and improve the services to residents I will publish it as a new front page.
You can email it to me.
You can also either remain anonymous if you wish or be willing to have your email address published as the author.
Thanks for taking the time to comment.

I have recently watched the filmed meetings of Anston Parish Council. I am absolutely appalled by the behaviour of some of the members of public. The shouting and abuse by some people including Mrs Estrada-Haigh is disgusting. I also find a lot of the comments on this website very offensive. The members of the Parish Council have been voted into office by the residents of Anston. They receive no payment for what they do and should be treated with more respect.

    • Watchman says:

Being elected as a parish councillor also carries responsibilities; Openess, Honesty and Transparency to name three. When Dalton and Burton refuse to recognise they carry some responsibility for what has happened in Rotherham it is not surprising when emotive subjects are not debated properly that tempers flare. Add to this Labour party councillors incompetence on financial matters and you have a recipe for disaster.
Offensive comments will never be published, perhaps you meant robust and frank comments? There are blogs which do publish foul and abusive language. That will never happen here.
All (non-offensive) comments are published and all points of view are welcome.
Thank you for your comment and welcome to Anston Parish Council Watch.
