Forward into 2017

For the UK it will be about Brexit: the triggering of Article 50 of the Lisbon Treaty at the end of March to enable the UK to leave the European Union, the response of the EU and the subsequent discussions. (Posts on this subject will not be published)

For RMBC it will be about showing the Commissioners and the DCLG they will continue to be more professional and competent and show they are worthy of the trust given to them.

For Anston the New Year presents a few challenges. Will Sajid Javid Communities Secretary overrule opposition to fracking in Anston? Will the Planning Inspector take note of APC’s recommendations-and individual comments- that HGV’s driving to and from the reopened quarry use the A57 and not drive through our villages using them as a ‘rat run’?

The proposed building of 28/30 new homes on the old Plaxton site will generate income and jobs for Anston and that is to be welcomed. What we haven’t got is any proposal to build affordable homes in our area. (‘Affordable’ has not been defined)

2017 can be what you want it to be; A new start and new opportunities.

Oh dear, 2017 and here we go again. Greg obviously cannot read and decipher the content at the same time. Fact, the Parish Council has had a letter from RMBC stating that they confirm that they will take away another £10,000 from the people of Anston next financial year. That`s on top of the £10,000 this year and the same amount last year. At the end of next year, that will amount to £30,000 that RMBC have taken away from Anston people.
Fact, Both Our RMBC Labour Councillors, Cllr Jonathon Ireland and Katherine Wilson were both fully aware of the policy. Fact, I nor anyone else, either at the RMBC council Meetings, or in the case of Cllr Ireland, at the Parish Council, heard either of them standing up and protesting on behalf of the people of Anston.
Note that the “facts” were not actually addressed, my fan club just wanted to make false statements and “attack me again.
“Greg seems to know a lot, as does “mark”, me thinks we have people on here again under false names.
Facts are facts, So please point out where i Misled the readers of this blog.

It’s quite easy to ignore the moaners and groaners who post on this blog. They ought to work for Kodak because they are so negative.

Councillors have the responsibility to make sure parish money and assets are utilised properly, it’s very easy to say ‘spend this or buy that’ without thinking about and considering future committments.
2017 will be good year IMV because A) parish councillors will not pass the proposed budget without thoroughly scrutinising it (instead of just voting and nodding it through) and B) The proposed house building on the old Plaxton site, The Jones Homes development on the former Parkstone House site and the reopening of Harrycroft quarry will bring jobs and money into Anston.
    What’s not to like?

How did I guess that people like Morgan and Mark would hit the negativity button before posting?
Both comments are ill informed and are typical of people who can never find a single positive thing to say about Anston.
You really are desperate, so typical of the keyboard warriors. No wonder you and yours stick to simple scapegoating, you are incapable of moving beyond that position.
Freud had words for such behaviour, displacement and projection.

Carry on Grumpies. You have as much influence on this parish and this blog as Santa does.

One thing thing that is coming from RMBC is that they have confirmed again that the £30,000 grant they gave the people of Anston is being withdrawn. Another cut by RMBC, and the costs pushed on to the people of Anston.
Yet again, no “shouty big words” from our two Labour RMBC Councillors, Jonathon Ireland and Katherine Wilson. “Thank you for your vote, now sod off, we are doing what the party tells us.”
I dare both of them to come on this site (we know they read it) and tell the people why they are not working in their interest.
( you never know, one of them may even come on here under their own name )

The vote for the reduction in parish council grants was pre May 2016, so both Labour Borough Councillors could not vote on this issue. Parish Councillor Thornton should try not to mislead your readership with misinformation. Look at his performance in Parish Council meetings. Ignoring the Chairman, arguing with the public and pursuing personal vendettas against anyone who holds him to account. No wonder A.P.C. gives him little support.

I really wish you’d get your facts right. The two Labour Borough councillors could have protested about the grants reduction for 2016/17 and 2017/18 on behalf of APC, they refused to do so.
You have not and cannot provide solid evidence for your comment about ‘personal vendettas’. Any more comments like this from you and you will be blocked.
Like the two contributors named you are congenitally incapable of posting anything positive therefore I suggest you should consider moving house because you are unhappy with APC and your depressive state of mind is a health risk to you.

Anston will face a number of things in the new year firstly I don’t think rmbc will take any notice of anything coming from apc much the same as rmbc full of empty promise s and far removed from public opinion
