VW Car Show

Dub Oddysey

Attention petrol heads and car enthusiasts.

Make a note to attend one of the North of England’s largest open air car shows on Saturday 30th or Sunday 31st July at Rackford Meadows.

The show is in its 14th year and more than 3,500 people are expected to view cars of all models from the VW family.

There will be an Autojumble, Show ‘n Shine on Sunday, cars for sale and  entertainment for children. You can take your dog but it must be on a leash at all times during your visit. (Don’t forget the doggy poo bags as well!)

This will be a fantastic attraction for Anston and an enjoyable family weekend for car enthusiasts and everyone else who appreciates the time and effort-and money!-VW club members put into their vehicles.

Tickets will be available on the day. Adults and children 12-16 £5.00. Children 11 and under free.

Had a cracling day there today and I can’t wait for more like it. Next big event will be the Summer Festival, so keep an eye out for the pinaples

  2. Norman says:

White elephant try gift horse if the council get there act together properly this field could become the host to bigger events providing valuable income for the community the thing is the last council had the opportunity to leave anston with a very good assist wich could benefit us for years to come pity some people just don’t see the benefits that may be available from this field

    • Watchman says:

You are so wide off the mark it is untrue. The residents of Rackford Road have made it clear they will oppose any more than 6 events a year in Rackford Meadows.
      It is a White Elephant.
There will be no more comments from ‘experts’ that do not concentrate on the thread.

It’s about time we had something like this in Anston.
The White Elephant that is Rackford Meadows-which was dumped on us by the last Labour administration-needs more organisations to make use of it and Dub Oddysey makes a refreshing change from the Steam Rally and Anston Day, both of them good and worthwhile but not new and different compared to this event.
I’m looking forward to spending a few hours browsing with other car enthusiasts at some of the best kept and maintained vehicles it’s possible to see in one place.

I had no idea this event was taking place until I read your blog, there hasn’t been any publicity at all as far as I know.
Well done for publicising it and I’m sure it will be a great day out for those of us who prefer bhp to balls.
